Getting Started

First launch

Set up your PIN

When you open LockerX for the first time, follow the onboarding screens to create a 6-digit PIN. This PIN is required to enter the app. Choose a PIN that you can remember, because LockerX cannot recover a forgotten PIN for you.

Security

Unlock with Face ID

You can enable Face ID Unlock in Settings. iOS verifies your face securely and LockerX only receives the authentication result. If Face ID is unavailable, you can still unlock the app with your PIN.

Main Features and How to Use Them

Import photos and videos

Tap Import Photos on the Home screen or inside an album to choose photos and videos from your photo library. Imported media is copied into LockerX and shown in your albums. If you have not created an album yet, LockerX creates a default album named Main.

Take a photo

Tap Take Photo on the Home screen to capture new media and save it directly into LockerX. If prompted, allow camera access so the feature can work.

Manage albums

The Albums tab shows your album collections. Tap the add card to create an album or import photos. Tap an album to open it. Use the menu button on an album to rename or delete it. Deleting an album also deletes the media stored in that album.

View photos and videos

Open an album and tap a photo or video to preview it full screen. Photos support swipe navigation and zoom. Videos include playback controls. Use selection mode in an album to select multiple items for deletion or moving to another album.

Import and manage files

Tap Add Files or open the Files tab to import documents, images, videos, audio files and other supported files. The Files tab supports filtering, searching, previewing, renaming, sharing and deleting files.

Preview file types

LockerX supports previews for common images, videos, audio files, PDFs and documents using iOS system preview and playback components. Some file formats may not preview if iOS does not support them on your device.

Use WLAN Transfer

Tap WLAN Transfer on the Home screen to start a local transfer service. LockerX shows an address with your device IP and port. Enter that address in a computer browser on the same Wi-Fi network, choose files from the computer and upload them to LockerX. Uploaded files appear in the Files area. Stop the transfer service when you are finished, and use this feature only on trusted networks.

Auto Lock

In Settings, use Auto Lock to choose when LockerX should lock after the app goes to the background. Available options include immediate lock and several timed delays.

Decoy Password

Decoy Password lets you create a second PIN that opens an empty vault view. This can help keep your real vault separate from a decoy space. You can manage this option in Settings.

Troubleshooting

I cannot import photos

Check iOS Settings and make sure LockerX has permission to access Photos. If you selected limited photo access, add the photos you want to import or allow broader access.

WLAN Transfer does not open on my computer

Confirm that your phone and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network. Keep the LockerX transfer page open on your phone while uploading. Some VPNs, guest networks or firewalls may block local network connections.

Face ID is not working

Make sure Face ID is set up on your device and allowed for LockerX. If biometric unlock fails, unlock with your PIN and try enabling Face ID Unlock again in Settings.

A file will not preview

LockerX relies on iOS support for many document previews. If a format is not supported, try exporting or opening the file in a compatible app using the share sheet.

Privacy and Data Notes

LockerX is designed for local vault storage. Your imported content is stored in the app's private container on your device unless you choose to share, export, transfer or delete it.
